SHERIFF KUMBA JOBE

SHERIFF KUMBA JOBE, Managing Partner

An adept and result-driven Legal Practitioner, an Academician and Activist with ability to provide timely and excellent quality solutions to complex legal issues. He possesses a great wealth of experience in litigation of civil and criminal matters, negotiation and settlement of disputes, drafting of private and commercial legal instruments, and legislations, capacity building and advocacy at domestic level. He is self-motivated, resourceful, hardworking, fighter and a go-getter legal Practitioner.

His professional career started with the Government of The Gambia under the Attorney General’s Chambers & Ministry of Justice where he was appointed as a State Counsel. As a State Counsel, he prosecuted several high-profile criminal cases, represented the Government’s interest in civil suits, advised and negotiated agreements, treaties or conventions both bilateral and multilateral, drafted legislations and provided ancillary legal services in the areas of company registration and administration of the estate of deceased persons.

In 2016, Mr. Jobe moved to private practice and joined one of the oldest law firms in The Gambia. He was an Associate Legal Practitioner at Semega Chambers for four years. Chief among his responsibilities were litigation of human rights and constitutional rights violation cases, defending people charged with criminal offences and advised and represented clients (individual or corporations) in wide range of civil matters, and as well, provide support to individuals and corporations on various legal matters and processes.

He worked as an Adjunct Lecture of Criminal Procedure and Gambia Legal System at the Gambia Technical Training Institute and Business Law at the Management Development Institute. He co-founded, volunteers and works for Centre for Legal Support on part-time basis. The Centre is a legal aid organization established in the Gambia providing pro bono legal service to people that cannot afford the services of lawyers.

Mr. Jobe studied law at the University of The Gambia where he obtained his LLB degree and thereafter, he proceeded to the Gambia Law School where he successfully completed his Bar Vocational Course (BL) leading to his qualification as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of The Gambia. He is a member of the Gambia Bar Association and many other youths led organisations.

ISATOU K. JALLOW, Senior Associate

Ms. Jallow is a qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of The Gambia of several years’ experience with specialization in both Corporate-Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution. She has expertise in all aspects of corporate and commercial law including Banking and Finance, Energy & Natural Resources, Employment and Labour, Real Estate and Conveyancing, Intellectual Property and Family Law.

Before joining our Practice, Ms. Jallow has worked at South Atlantic Chambers and Farage Andrews LP, a Law Firm in The Gambia as an Associate where she litigated and handled several commercial and criminal litigations, dispute resolutions, regulatory and compliance matters.

Ms. Jallow obtained an LLB Honours Degree from the University of The Gambia. She later proceeded to the Gambia Law School where she obtained her Bar qualification (BL) leading to her admission and enrolment as a Legal Practitioner in The Gambia.

She is a member of Gambia Bar Association (GBA), the Female Lawyers Association Gambia (FLAG) and Center for Legal Support (CLS).


FABAKARY JAMMEH

FABAKARY JAMMEH, Practice Director

Mr. Jammeh, leads the management and administration of Sunu Law Chambers Practice. Experienced in people and clients’ management, he is a trained lawyer and holds Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of the Gambia and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) in Rwanda.

He has experience in providing legal services such as regulatory compliance, negotiation of transnational contracts, due diligence exercises, foreign investment and business advisory for doing business in The Gambia. He regularly advises clients on the provisions of the existing corporate laws as they relate to incorporation and post-incorporation matters and necessary filings; the registration of deeds, patents, trademarks and industrial designs.

With his extensive experience in handling senior management and administration positions in various local and international organizations, he is responsible among other things for our methodology in resource application while at the same time leading in performance management across the firms’ business, ensuring international best practice, client care and responsiveness.
